Well it isn’t always an easy decision and may take more than just having the desire. There are some characteristics that will be necessary if you are going to enjoy this lifestyle. If you have been following our adventure you know that we have been traveling and living in our RV full-time for a little over two years. There is a ton of stuff to learn about this lifestyle, in fact, we are still learning. It’s definitely not always easy. This is not a vacation, it’s our life.
Some people will adjust to this lifestyle more easily than others. It’s not a lifestyle choice that will work for everyone. Before you make the decision, do your research. Here are some things to consider when analyzing whether or not you have what it takes to live the full-time RV lifestyle.
Time does not stand still for us. Things keep happening and life continues to move forward. As we travel through this amazing country we find so many new and interesting things to experience, but we still have to manage to fit in everyday things. Our refrigerator does not fill itself, the dishes don’t wash themselves, and no one comes to take out our trash while we explore a new city. There is still an endless amount of chores that need to be done on a daily basis and honestly it can be challenging to find time to fit things in when we are so busy discovering new places. It is also important to us that the kids pitch in to help with some of these tasks, but they are still learning and it takes time to teach them how to do these things right. Life is a balancing act whether stationary or on the road.
The opportunity we have had to visit some of the most beautiful places in this country has been priceless. Going to national parks has somehow become a part of what we do. We had no idea when we started out on this crazy adventure that going to national parks was to become such an integral part of our whole experience. They are all so unique and amazing, each one is different and we are surprised to keep finding that we love all of them. Visiting them with our children has created some unforgettable memories for our entire family. Having our kids right there with us is not always easy, but totally worth every moment.
