It took three years of planning and a lot of work before we made the final leap to travel state by state.
Reading articles, watching videos, and hours of discussion took place. That is why we want to provide information to help others. Making the change from a stationary life to a nomadic life takes time and planning. Parts of the process can be difficult. Getting rid of stuff is not as easy as it sounds. We all have things that we love and want to hang on to.
The main thing is to focus on what is important. For us it was family and freedom. Giving our children an education by traveling state by state has been the right choice. All of the things we had to give up to have this opportunity has been worth it. Honestly we never even think about those things, we are having such a great time!
We want to help other families interested in traveling state by state.
There are many families living this life or interested in doing so. Our goal is to help other families that want to travel. It can be very expensive for a family to find fun, educational things to do at a low cost. In our state by state travels we try to find free or inexpensive things for families to do. So when we find a great place we write about it to share that information with our readers.
Big theme parks, water parks, and tour boats just do not fit into our budget. The great thing is that they don’t have to. We are happy to check out a free small town museum, a local library or just go hiking. All these things are usually free or inexpensive and we have a great time. By joining our state by state adventure we will share with you all the places we find. None of which will break the bank.
Traveling state by state with our house is awesome.
Having our bathroom, bedrooms, and kitchen wherever we go is a great way to travel. No matter what state we are in, we are home! This makes traveling less expensive because we don’t have to eat out for every meal. Grocery shopping can be tricky when you are always in a new store, but it is great to be able to prepare all of our meals. Picnics have become a regular part of life for us. It not only saves us money, it saves us time.
Packing a lunch has become part of our morning routine. Being able to stop and eat lunch whenever we are hungry makes it easy to stay longer in a cool place. Restaurants get very expensive especially for a family. When we do choose to get something out we like to find a local spot and support small businesses. In our state by state travels we have found some great family friendly local favorites.
Family friendly places to park the RV are not always easy to find.
By joining our state by state adventure we will share some of the amazing campgrounds and RV parks we find. Only if we really enjoy our stay do we mention a place because believe me they are not all great. There are many places out there too that are not family friendly. We try to avoid these ones, but sometimes you just don’t know until you get there. It is also our goal to keep our site rents low which can take some research.
We stay in a variety of campgrounds and we move frequently. So we want to share with you the places we find that have a great price but are also good for families. State by state we are finding amazing places and we just have to tell others about them. Freedom was something we loved about the idea of traveling full time. So making reservations is just not for us. We have found many hidden gems because of this that do not accept reservations. These have been some of our favorite ones, but they can be harder to find.
